An Experiment on Group Synchronization Control in a Heterogeneous Network

Abstract(in English) This paper presents experimental results of group synchronization control in an interconnected ATM and Ethernet LAN, which is one of heterogeneous networks. In the experimental system, stored voice and video streams are multicast from a source to plural destinations distributed among distinct networks, and then they are synchronized and output. To adjust output timing among the destinations, we examine two group synchronization mechanisms which we previously proposed. The paper also makes a performance comparison of the mechanisms and clarifies the effect of the group synchronization control.
