Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For the purpose of guaranteeing the QOS of reserved data by RSVP on FDDI LAN, partial modification of TTP (Timed Token Protocol) is proposed which is the MAC sublayer protocol of FDDI. In this paper, two schemes are considered for transmitting reserved data and non-reserved data. One is the scheme that the synchronous and asynchronous transmission mechanism of TTP is utilized, and the other is one that the synchronous transmission mechanism of former is improved. And each delay time and data transmission rate in the case that excess traffic occurs beyond reserved data are calculated and studied for comparison on the basis of a simplified LAN model.
