Interim Report of ITU-T Nonlinear Coefficient Round Robin Measurement

Abstract(in English) ITU-T nonlinear coefficient (n2/Aeff) round robin measurement results for various optical fibers in Japan and USA are presented. From the ITU-T nonlinear coefficient (n2/Aeff) round robin measurements for various optical fibers, the measured values of (n2/Aeff) using a pulsed -LD SPM method and three CW-SPM methods, and two XPM methods were found to be a little scattered with various fiber types and measurement methods. It was found that measurement spreads among the various 8-kinds of optical fiber types of offsets from the all measured average values of (n2/Aeff) [%] were less than +/-10%. Also, it was observed that measurement spreads among the participants (3-kinds of measurement methods) of offsets from the all measured average values of (n2/Aeff) [%] were less than +/-10%.
