Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have studied about optimal fiber parameters, such as chromatic dispersion, dispersion-slope and effective area for 40-Gbit/s, 32-channel WDM transmission systems by numerical simulation. It is shown that there is an optimum chromatic dispersion value under the assumed system configuration. It is also shown that the influence of the dispersion slope is small. Moreover, it is found that large effective area improves the system performance.
