Abstract(in English) | Bi-soliton is a periodically stationary pulse propagating in a dispersion-managed optical fiber transmission system whose dispersion map is periodic. The spacing between two pulses of a bi-soliton does not change for a long distance transmission. In this paper, the stability of bi-soliton against noise and pulse collision in wavelenght-division-multiplexed(WDM) system is studied. It is numerically confirmed that anti-phase bi-soliton is more stable than in-phase one. The frequency and time position shifts of the bi-soliton due to the collision in WDM system are analyzed by using the variational method with a couple of gaussian pulses. Pulse's time position shift in a channel depends only on the signal format of a pulse in the other channel. |
