Abstract(in English) There are results that polycrystalline-Nd-doped Y_3A1_5O_<12> (Nd:YAG) Ceramics have the similar optical properties of Nd:YAG single crystals optical absorption, emission spectra, Raman spectra, and fluorescence lifetime. The small-signal-gain and thermal conductivities of the ceramics and single crystals were measured and also indicate the comparable features with each other. A high power CW Nd:YAG Ceramic rod laser was also demonstrated. The maximum output power of 84 W (290.8W pumping) with a 37.1 % slope efficiency was obtained at 1064 nm.
