Abstract(in English) | Oscillation wavelength of a free-running, continuous wave erbium-doped fiber ring laser is studied both numerically and experimentally. In the experiment, we have observed a drastic change in oscillation wavelength associated with a change in cavity loss. Numerical simulations based on a two level laser model with consideration of a spectral profile of absorption and emission cross section confirms the experimental result. Considering the applied model, we conclude the drastic change as a result of the dependence of a gain spectra on population inversion. |
