| Abstract(in English) | Elecroabsorption modulator integrated DFB lasers are quite suitable light source for dense WDM transmission systems because of their compactness and low-power consumption.In this paper, I review recent progress of this device.Broad-band operation covering C-band and L-band, very-low-chirp modulation for over 100-km SMF transmission, high-bit-rate operation at 40 Gb/s, and some proposed integrated devices based on EA modulators are described. |
