Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We analyze the characteristics of a photonic crystal waveguide probe for the photon scanning tunneling microscope. The probe is composed of the two-dimensional photonic crystal waveguide whose front edge is closed by dielectric pillars. The method of solution is the FD-TD method based on the principles of multidimensional Wave Digital Filters.Numerical results show that the S/N of the proposed probe is improved in comparison with the probe composed of the conventional dielectric slab waveguide so that the dynamic range of the proposed probe become much larger than that of the conventional one.
