Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The picosecond pulse response of the wavelength conversion using nondegenerate four-wave mixing in a DFB laser has been examined for the first time. The grating stops the small detuning component of input pulses, and prevent the tailing of conjugate pulses. The decrease of the pump power due to the input power is small. The simulation shows that a ten times larger input pulse than the lasing power can be converted. The wavelength conversion of pulses with pulse-width of a few picoseconds was demonstrated experimentally.
