Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this report, we investigate polarization fluctuation induced noise and the countermeasure for it, considering polarization dependent loss in the monolithically integrated resonator micro optic gyro(R-MOG) on silica planar lightwave circuit. In R-MOG, there appears the interference between two eigen states of polarization, which are no longer orthogonal to each other with polarization dependent loss in the ring resonator. Especially, when the output ports of the resonator have even smaller PDL, the effect of the interference becomes extraordinarily large to degrade the gyro output drastically. Additionally in the report, we proposed a novel configuration of the R-MOG which have two seperated input/output couplers in the resonator and show the performance, to suppress the polarization fluctuation induced noise. Due to our analysis, two seperated coupler configuration can realize 0.1°/s gyro performance.
