Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Time-dependent polarization pulses are generated by combination of two perpendicularly polarized, high-intensity laser pulses. The time evolution of the polarization state is measured by the POLLIWOG(Polarization-labeled interference versus wavelength of only a glint), which is a combination of the frequency-resolved optical gating (FROG) and the spectral interferometry (SI). The temporal evolution of the polarization changes depending on the relative delay between the two perpendicularly polarized components. The output energy is ~ 300 μJ and the focused intensity reaches 10^<14> W/cm^2, which is enough to ionize atoms by tunneling or multiphoton processes.
