Branching properties of low-loss Y-branches for wide branching angle

Abstract(in English) A Y-branch module is the basic element to design optical integrated circuits on a board using multimode optical waveguides. In this study, we propose a new Y-branch module, which achieves low-loss characteristics and wide branching angle. Also proposed Y-branch module has a large tolerance for the fabrication error. In a numerical analysis, we show the low-loss characteristics and the branching ratio of proposed Y-branch module.
