Analysis of Fundamental Characteristics of Elementary Photonic Crystal Optical Waveguide Devices

Abstract(in English) We analyze the characteristics of two-dimensional photonic crystal optical waveguides. The method of solution is the FD-TD method based on the principles of multidimensional Wave Digital Filters. We calculate the transmission spectra of the L-shaped bend waveguides and show that reflection at the corner can be eliminated by placing crystals as potential barrier in the corner region. Next, we analyze directional coupler and confirm that its property is similar to one constructed by dielectric waveguides.
