Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently higher power and wider band light source is demanded for high-power and broader gain EDFA, remote pumping EDFA system, and Raman amplifier. One of the most efficient solutions for this light source is high-power pumping unit by multiplexing of pump lasers. Recently, fiber Bragg gratings (FBG) were used to form an external cavity to stabilize and narrow the output spectra of pump LD. Thus, we are able to achieve and efficient multiplexing using MZI type multiplexers. In this paper, MZI type multiplexer integrated on a silica based planar lightwave circuit (PLC) and LD multiplexing by PLC-MZI are described.
