Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) As the optical characteristics of Ag island films are greatly changed by heating at about 150℃, the Ag island films can be used as heat-mode write-once (WO) optical data strage media In this paper, to improve those strage characteristics, we have investigated compound metal island films composed of alloyed particles of silver and other metals. We demonstrate that Ag-Au compound metal island films are more durable WO media than Ag island films, and that Al-Ag compound metal island films become WO media for a short wavelength laser from those resonance characteristics of 500nm.
