Fabrication and Optical Characterization of II-VI Semiconductor Photonic Dot Array

Abstract(in English) To realize smalllight emitters for the optical interconnection, selectively grown photonic dot structures of II-VI semiconductors were fabricated. The photonic dot can confine the vacuum field 3-dimensionally and is possible to control the spontaneous emission. ZnS photonic dots including ZnSe active layers showed modulation peaks at the reasonances in the photonic dots by micro-photoluminescence measurements. By etching the ZnSe/ZnS photonic dots and removing the ZnSe layers on {034} ZnS facets, the modulation effect became much clearer. It will be possible to achieve high modulation effect on luminescence by positioning the active layers only on the(001)plane inside the photonic dots.
