Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents the design and analysis of optical waveguides that have high birefringence dispersions. There are useful for the optical signal processing BFN (beam forming network) used for making multi-beam antennas that can radiate independently steerable beams. Optical waveguides that have a high birefringence dispersion are obtained by designing waveguide structures. It is found that for a fairly broad wavelength from 1.5 μm to l.6 μm that two optical waveguides made from GaAs and LiNb0_3 indicate single-mode birefringence dispersions of 3.8×10 <-3> μm <-1> and 5×10 <-3> μm <-1> comparing to the conventional one of 0.5×10 <-3> μm respectivcly.
