Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We introduce a simple fabrication technique of optical waveguide pattern based on the two-beam interference using single pulse UV laser. The gratings on nonlinear polymer waveguides and Ag-doped glass waveguides were successfully fabricated based on direct UV laser irradiation of relatively low energy density with no etching process. Using this method, we can simply fabricate the χ <(2)> grating and grating with the period from submicron to submillimeter. Two-beam interference, single pulse UV laser, nonlinear polymer waveguide.
