Abstract(in English) | This paper describes recent progress in the polymer optical waveguide devices. Novel polymer materials of epoxy, polymide, and silicone have been specifically developed for optical waveguide device fabrication. They feature high optical transparency, refractive index controllability, high thermo-optical coefficient, high adhesive strength, and good heat resistance. High performance durable optical waveguide devices such as couplers, switches, gratings, and film waveguides can be fabricated by use of developed materials. |
