Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Ti:sapphire laser is attractive as an ultra-short pulsed laser and a tunable laser due to its wide tuning range (650nm-1100nm), and the Ti:sapphire laser in a waveguided configuration brings about the integration of laser system and realizes the miniature laser system which has good stability and reliability. In this study, we fabricated Ti:sapphire thin films by laser ablation deposition and characterized the crystallinity, the fluorescence property and the waveguide property. We also eliminated the droplets on the surfaces of thin films, which cause an additional waveguide loss and are produced when a target is ablated and stick to the surfaces of thin films, by using a high-speed rotating target.
