Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The theoretical studies of light scattering from optical disk models have been analyzed by the boundary element method(BEM) mainly for ROM type optical disk models. However, if we try to analyze the light scattering from the RAM type of optical disk models, it will be not easy to apply the BEM to this type of optical disks because of the anisotropy or inhomogeniety of the dielectric constants of the recording materials and also of their multi-layered disk structure. In this paper, the light beam scattering from a plase change optical disk model is analyzed by the three-dimensional FDTD(Finite Difference Time Domain) method. Simulated results of near-zone and far-zone scattered-filed pattern and the detected signal characteristics are shown.
