Analysis of Threshold in Controlling of Optical Bistability

Abstract(in English) We have reported that one of the bistable value of the phase conjugate reflectivity is selected by illuminating the erase beam in photorefractive four-wave mixing with beam fanning. In this paper, a bistable region of the phase conjugate reflectivity is clarified by solving the coupling wave equations for the first time. Then the phase conjugate reflectivity is calculated by the temporal response analysis in consideration of the intensity variation of the erase beam, and we prove the validity of the bistable region. Besides, we show that one of the bistable value of the phase conjugate reflectivity can be selected in experiments.
