Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have measured a new side-chain third-order nonlinear optical polyimide which introduced aluminum phthalocyanine (AlPc), using the Z-scan technique. The third-order nonlinear optical susceptibility Χ^(3) at 1.064um was very large 10^-9esu and as large as polydiacetylens(PDA) in non-resonance. Further more, We have found that Χ^(3) changes in dependence of film thickness which accompanies increase in the Χ^(3) value of about 10 times in thin film of 0.9um, rather than that in a thick film. The enhancement of Χ^(3) value in the thin films is caused by molecular sggregation.
