Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Nd doped LiNbO_3(LN) waveguide lasers has been studied actively. Z cut Ti-indiffused waveguide lasers are favorable for the implementation of a variety of functional waveguide laser devices. We used MgO doped LN substrate to avoid photorefractive damages and Nd-thermal-diffusion technique to obtain uniformly Nd-doped substrate. Prototype waveguide lasers were fabricated and tested. The lasers were pumped by a TE-polarized pump wave of 809nm wavelength, and first cw laser oscillation was obtained at 1085nm wavelength with the threshold of 32mW.
