Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Four-wave mixing (FWM) in an optical fiber is expected to be applied to a transparent all optical wavelength conversion in a future photonic networks. This paper shows a wavelength conversion with bandwidth of over 72 nm by FWM in a polarization-maintaining highly nonlinear disperision-shifted fiber (PM-HNL-DSF). A simultaneous wavelength conversion of 320 Gb/s (32x10 Gb/s) WDM signal between 1.55 μm band and 1.58 μm band is successfully demonstrated with a simultaneous optical phase-conjugate transmission through 1.3 μm zero-disperision single-mode fiber.
