Tunable THz-wave generation from LiNbO_3/MgO:LiNbO_3 optical parametric oscillators

Abstract(in English) THz wave generation from LiNbO_3 optical parametric oscillator(OPO)exhibits multiple advantages such as wide tunability, coherency, and compactness of its system. In this paper, we have investigated the performances of the OPO utilizing MgO doped LiNbO_3 crystal, which has remarkably stronger resistance to optical damage than undoped one. The MgO doped LiNbO_3 OPO has exhibited three times higher conversion efficiency than the undoped LiNbO_3 OPO, and the tuning range has been greatly extended in the high energy side.
