Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The tunable optical filter using Fourier gratings(the optical tuner), is studied. Characteristics of Fourier gratings are introduced, and the filter design is described and some performance is evaluated, such as less than 3dB insertion losse and less than -30dB adjacent optical closstalk. The optical tuners with over 200 nm tunability and 1.5 nm bandwidth, and those with over 30 nm tunability, 0.42 nm bandwidth, and less than 0.05 nm wavelength resolution for ITU-T grid are reported.
