Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A fiber grating has a characteristic it reflects light having a very narrow band wavelength. The reflection wavelength is changed by applying stress to the grating region. We obtained the wavelength shift 5.88nm at tensile strain of 5.26×10^<-6> using a micro-step stage with a stepper motor. Using this way, we studied the applying for an optical wavelength switch and a wavelength selector. In the experiment of optical switching, we obtained the maximum optical extinction ratio of 21dB. For the wavelength selecting experiment using two wavelengths, we obtained the maximum crosstalk of 10dB. And the operation time of 130msec and 300msec are estimated by calculation, respectively.
