Abstract(in English) Nonlinear directional couplers loaded with the Bragg reflector (BR-NLDCs) work as a bistable device having two output ports separated from the input port. BR-NLDC requires less switching power, typically 1/10, comparing with a conventional nonlinear directional coupler. BR-NLDCs that employ an optical Kerr effect play an important role in future optical signal routing and communication systems. In this paper, all-optical set-reset in the fabricated symmetric BR-NLDC at wavelength 1.55μm is demonstrated.
