Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Based on a traveling wave model, quantum noise characteristics are analyzed of the output of frequency-doubling ring lasers, and relations between gain profiles and noise characteristics are investigated. Two kinds of systems are analyzed: one is the discrete system, in which the amplification and the harmonic conversion are performed in separate crystals, and the other is the self-doubling system, in which the amplification and the conversion are performed in the same crystal. It is predicted that the noise performance of the discrete system does not depend on the gain profile, whereas that of the self-doubling system strongly depends on the profile, especially in high output region.
