Abstract(in English) | Monolithic integration of various grating components and QW-DFB laser enables realization of subminiature and high performance waveguide devices. The graded-index separate confinement heterostructure (GRIN-SCH) SQW-DFB laser, that has small variance and high stability of lasing wavelength, is suitable for such integration. Compositional disordering of SQW provides low propagation losses in passive waveguide. We implemented two devices using waveguide gratings and QW-DFB laser, i.e. monolithic integrated optic position/displacement sensor and disc pickup head. We designed, fabricated and examined the devices, and demonstrated the position/displacement sensing function. |
