Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Amplification and oscillation characteristics of pulse-operated Dye-doped Polymer Optical Fiber (DPOF) were investigated. The device contains organic dye (such as Rhodamine 6G, Rhodamine B) inside the core region of POF. Experimentally, amplified signal of 1kW using DPOF amplifier was obtained. In addition, possibility of DPOF laser is discussed using 4-level laser system. It was evaluated that the length of 30mm DPOF laser can give the order of ten-watts oscillated power. An optical source system using DPOFs, which have an oscillator and an amplifier of DPOFs, is proposed. Experimental result of ASE-type POFL is demonstrated, and 300mm-length DPOF gave 600W (conversion efficiency : 40%) of oscillated power.
