Abstract(in English) Frequency shifted feedback laser (FSFL) is a laser which contains an acousto-optic modulator as a frequency shifter inside the cavity. Its outstanding feature lies on the oscillation spectrum ; it oscillates with a chirped comb of frequency components. The oscillation dynamics, however, has not yet been fully clarified. We are now investigating it by using a diode-pumped Nd : YVO_4 as a gain medium. In this paper, oscillation mechanism of FSFL was extensively investigated through the oscillating spectral dynamics.
