Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We describe linearizing methods of the optical frequency sweep of a laser diode for high-resolution FMCW reflectometry. The impulse response of the optical frequency change of the laser is first measured, and the optical frequency sweep is linearized by the two methods. The first method is to modify the modulation waveform by using the 1st-order digital filter, and the second is to modify the modulation waveform by adding the deviation of the calculated waveform of the optical frequency sweep from the modulation waveform to the modulation waveform, both were realized by a DSP. The linearly frequency-swept laser diode realized by the methods is applicable to diagnose the optical fibers and the optical waveguides.
