Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, guided acoustic wave Brillouin scattering (GAWBS), which is a very weak forward scattering in optical fiber, is a severe problem in the field of quantum optics such as squeezed light generation. In this study, the GAWBS spectra in polarization maintaining (PM) fibers are analyzed theoretically and experimentally. The polarized GAWBS and depolarized GAWBS are measured for two different types of PM fibers. Calculated results are in agreement with the experimental ones.
