Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to realize novel opto-electronic devices with small dimensions and high performance, we have investigated the possibility of the applications of exciton-polariton to switching devices. Here we studied the enhancement of the interaction energy between exction and photon in the waveguide structures. Due to the existence of the grating on the quantum well waveguide, amplitude with the light field of the wave number determined by the grating pitch is significantly enhanced. The interaction energy obtained is 3 meV. This result shows the possibility of the realization of the polariton devices operating at room temperature.
