Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) algorithm is developed for the analysis of metal-cladded waveguide structures. The Berenger's perfectly matched layer (PML) as the absorbing boundary condition (ABC) is utilized to terminate the waveguide structures for FDTD simulation. As an ezample, a waveguide T-junction is analyzed by the FDTD method for TE case, assuming that the metal being considered as the perfect conductor. The amplitudes of the TE guided modes in the waveguides are extracted from the field distributions obtained in the FDTD analysis, by a least-squares approach. Numerical results show that, in a pure T-junction structure, most of energy of the incident fundamental mode is reflected, and the outputs contain merely the higher order modes.
