Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The purpose or this paper is to discuss the design procedure of an experimental 10dB three line microstrip coupler on an Epsilam-10 anisotropic substrate. The main advantages of microstrip couplers on anisotropic matcrial is the improvement in isolation and directivity through near equalization of even-and odd-mode phase velocities. This structure is simpler to fabricate than an overlay structure, but provides similar advantages. The mode impedances, effective dielectric constants and mode voltage ratios as functions of strip width and thickness used in the design are also presented. The coupler characteristics in the form S-parameters have been measured from 0.4 to 1.8GHz. These experimental results are compared with simultated results for their accuracy.
