Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, there has been interest in nonlinear optical effect applied to optical devices. In this paper, we simulated propagation of optical pulses in the 2-D nonliear waveguide by FD-TD technique. The linear dispersion and Raman scattering are described by a convolution of electric field with second-order Lorentz, and those are taken into the FD-TD paradigm using Z transforms. Then we formulated Kerr effect using Taylor series expansion. Computer simulation shows that if a incident wave satisfies some suitable conditions, the nonlinear effects cancel the linear dispersion, and the wave keeps its shape. Finally we proposed a method to simulate the long distance propagation by shifting the analysis domain.
