Blue, Green Solid State Laser Using MgO-LN Periodic Domain Inverted Bulk SHG Crystal

Abstract(in English) A periodically domain inverted crystal has several advantages, such as 1) high conversion efficiency 2) wide temperature tolerance 3) no walk off. Using MgO-LiNbO_3 with a high optical damage threshold, a uniform periodic domain inversion has been successfully formed by a novel corona discharge method. Using this crystal in intracavity SHG device makes it possible to control temperatures of LD and wavelength conversion crystal simultaneously. As a result, we have developed high quality and high power stability blue and green solid state lasers.
