Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Femtosecond optical Kerr experiment was conducted and photodarkening effect on nonlinear optical properties of CdS_xSe_<1-x> doped glass was studied. The experimental results show that intensity of the optical Kerr signal for fresh glass investigated is in proportion to the third-power of input light intensity, which coincides well with the theoretical analysis of two-wave mixing. After undergoing photodarkening, the nonlinear optical characteristic of the glass is changed and an almost linear dependence of the optical Kerr signal intensity on the input light intensity is demonstrated. This study is significant for the applicatjon of the materials.
