Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The induced modulational instability in a properly designed fiber transforms the optical beat signal, which is made from two cw lights of laser diodes, into the optical soliton pulse train. We report the generation of 1.3[ps](720[fs]) pulse train at a repetition rate of 89[GHz](230[GHz]) in the 1.55[μm] region by using a comb-like dispersion profiled fiber which consists of only four pieces of standard fibers.
