Abstract(in English) In this paper, we describe a method for generating ultrafast optical pulse train using mode-locked pulse train and group-velocity dispersion (GVD) of optical fiber. An optical pulse train at a multiplied repetition frequency of an initial mode-locked pulse train is obtained by adjusting fiber length in accordance with the mode-locking frequency and the fiber's GVD. A 98GHz-196 GHz pulse train was successfully generated using a 49 GHz-monolithic passively mode-locked semiconductor laser and a commertial single-mode optical fiber.
