Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Twin photons, which are produced from optical parametric interaction, have 100% correlation because they are always generated as a pair. By using this correlation, we can reduce the noise below the shot noise limit. In this research, we used KTP as a nonlinear optical crystal and designed a doubly-resonant optical parametric oscillator with the monolithic cavity structure. Stable cw oscillation was achieved. The differential noise between the signal and idler lights could be reduced below the shot noise level by 1.8dB.
