Abstract(in English) | THz wave generation from LiNbO_3 optical parametric oscillator exhibits multiple advantages like wide tunability and coherency, and is expected to be useful for wide range of applications. We have theoretically investigated the gain coefficient, and shown that cooling of a LiNbO_3 crystal is effective to obtain higher conversion efficiency. We have also demonstrated experimentally that more than ten times higher conversion efficiency was obtained at 17.5 K, compared to that obtained at room temperature. |
