Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This article describes the asymmetric colliding-pulse molelocked semiconductor laser in which the saturable absorber section is located at sub-multiple of cavity length. We have observed the modelocking like that the optical pulse which period is the roundtrip time of submultiple of cavity length collide with counterpropagating pulse at the saturable absorber section. The present method simply by the position of single saturable absorber section has verified that the optical pulse repetition rate can be increased up to terahertz without shortening cavity length.
