ROOM TEMPARATURE CW LASING AT 1.092μm IN Nd:LiTaO_3

Abstract(in English) CW stable laser action at 1.092μm is demonstrated in a bulk Nd:L iTaO_3 crystal at the room temperature by pumping with a Ti: Sapphire laser.The crystal was grown by Czochralski method from a melt containing 0.44 wt% of Nd_2O_3.A relatively high slope efficiency of 21% has been achieved from an uncoated sample.The lasing line is a σ polarized wave regardless of pump polarization. Fluorescence life time has been measured to be about 110μs.Lasing with high power pulsed excitation exhibited the self generation of intense SH green light at 540nm from an as grwon crystal.
