Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Waveguide SHG devices were investigated using a novel organic nonlinear optical material isopropyl-4-acetylphenylurea(IAPU).Thin film crystal of LAPU can be used appropriately for TE^ω→TE^2ω> conversion using d_22> coefficient in a waveguide structure. Guided mode-mode and Cerenkov radiation SHG were demonstrated using several IAPU films made on various glass substrates. For the relaxation of phase-matching condition and improvement in conversion efficiency,a concept of thickness-noncritical phase- matching(TNPCM)with an opfimized overlap integral in a four-layer waveguide was proposed in which refractive indices of linear layer are ideally adjusted, and experimentally confirmed.
