Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The characteristics of the ferroelectric-domain-inverted grating(~3μm period) formed by applying voltage at room temperatu re in LiNbO_3(0.5mm thickness) were examined for waveguide quasi- phase-matching seconid-harmonic-generation devices.Ladder electrode and corrugation electrode were adopted as a periodic electrode. The electric field distribution in the crystal depending on the electrode structure was calculated. It was found that the domain-inversion tended to occur from the +z-side rather than the - z-side.The optimum structure was obtained by applying a voltage pulse of approximately 10kV,140msec through a ladder electrode (linewidth, period=0.2) in vacuum, and through a corrugation electrode in insulation oil.
